Jane Eyre Santenay Blanc 2023
Jane Eyre is an Australian micro-négociant who has been living and working in Beaune for more than 20 years. She made a distinct mark in Burgundy in 2021 when she was awarded a coveted Négociant of the Year award for her label of distinguished wines with a focus on Pinot Noir. Jane also returns to Australia each year to make a line of terroir-driven Pinot Noir bottlings from exceptional sites in Victoria and Tasmania. There is a lightness of touch thread to her wines from both continents that attracts a strong following.
This year sees a change of supplier. The wine is a blend of several parcels coming from the Chassagne side of Santenay. This sees a richer style than the previous 2 vintages. Fermented in various sized barrels and a Clayver. 25% new oak.
Still holding notes of lemon along with white peaches. More full bodied than the Bourgogne Blanc with a long finish.
