A Legacy of Excellence

Leeuwin Estate, one of the five founding wineries of the renowned Margaret River district in Western Australia, holds a special place in the world of fine wines. Guided by two generations and a team of highly skilled winemakers, this family-owned estate consistently produces wines that rival the best in the world.

A Visionary Beginning

In 1972, the visionary Napa Valley winemaker, Robert Mondavi, recognized the immense potential of the Leeuwin vineyard site for producing premium wines. He provided mentorship to Denis and Tricia Horgan, who transformed their cattle farm into the magnificent Leeuwin Estate. The first commercial vintage in 1979 put Leeuwin on the global map when Decanter Magazine bestowed its highest recommendation upon the 1981 "Art Series" Chardonnay.

An International Acclaim

The international acclaim for Leeuwin Estate has only grown since then. Today, Leeuwin exports its exceptional wines to 30 markets worldwide. The prestigious Langton's Classification of Australian wine recognizes Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay as part of the top "Exceptional" category and the iconic "Heritage Five," celebrating Australia's most exceptional and groundbreaking wines. The Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon is classified as "Outstanding."

In the realm of international recognition, Leeuwin Estate has earned a place in the US 'Wine & Spirits' Magazine's Hall of Fame as one of the 'International Wineries of the Year.' Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnays have received high praise from US 'Wine Spectator,' with scores as high as 98/100 and frequent inclusion in the esteemed "Top 100 Wines of the Year" list. The Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon has been recognized as a "Top 50 Wine of the Year" by UK 'Decanter' Magazine and as a "Top 100 Wine of The Year" by US 'Wine & Spirits.'
