Murdoch Hill
Murdoch Hill is a proud Adelaide Hills producer, with a story deeply rooted in family, land and craftsmanship.
Located just behind the township of Oakbank, the Murdoch Hill home vineyard and winery sit within the beautiful Adelaide Hills, on Peramangk Country. The Downer family’s connection to the property dates back to 1939, when their grandfather purchased the farm. In 1998, the next generation planted vines, laying the foundation for the wines we enjoy today.
Now in its third generation, Murdoch Hill continues to be family-led, with Michael Downer as Chief Winemaker, Andrew Downer overseeing marketing and Henry Downer contributing through the Board.
The Artisan Series pays tribute to this family history, with each wine named after a vintage horse-drawn carriage, a nod to their grandfather’s passion for collecting them. A thoughtful range that brings together place, heritage and modern Adelaide Hills winemaking.
