A Heritage of Winemaking Mastery

Château des Tours is steeped in a rich history that spans generations. The Reynaud family, esteemed winegrowers since 1880, has meticulously crafted wines that embody the essence of the Rhône Valley terroir. Their vineyards encompass esteemed estates, including Château Rayas, Château Fonsalette, and Château des Tours itself. Today, these wines age gracefully in the cellars of two magnificent estates: Château Rayas and Château des Tours.

The Reynaud Legacy

Albert Reynaud (1880 - 1910)

Albert Reynaud, the great-grandfather of Emmanuel Reynaud, embarked on an extraordinary journey in winemaking. Originally a notary near Avignon, Albert's life took a turn when he purchased Rayas in 1880, setting the foundation for future generations.

Louis Reynaud (1920 - 1970)

Under the stewardship of Albert's son, Louis Reynaud, the renowned Rayas wine was first bottled in 1920. With Louis's vision, the wines gained popularity locally and nationally. In 1935-38, Louis acquired the Domaine des Tours, an agricultural marvel in Sarrians, which he entrusted to his son Bernard. Furthermore, in 1945, Louis acquired the Château de Fonsalette, an exquisite ten-hectare property north of Orange.

Jacques Reynaud (1978 - 1997)

Jacques, the youngest son of Louis, assumed the reins of Rayas and Fonsalette in 1978. Known for his expertise, Jacques dedicated himself to vinifying numerous exceptional vintages. His unwavering focus on soil balance profoundly influenced the wines' exceptional quality.

Emmanuel Reynaud (1997 - Present)

Tragically, Jacques passed away in 1997, leaving behind a remarkable legacy. The responsibility of guiding and nurturing the domains fell to Emmanuel Reynaud, Jacques's nephew. Having already overseen the Domaine des Tours since 1989, Emmanuel brought his expertise to bear in preserving the family's winemaking traditions. Today, Emmanuel, supported by a dedicated team, continues to lead the operations of all three estates with unwavering passion and commitment.
