Description

Established in 1999, Fraser Gallop Estate is at the heart of Margaret River’s Wilyabrup valley (20km) north of the town of Margaret River and six kilometres from the southwest coast of Western Australia. The Estate enjoys splendid isolation and a moderate maritime climate created by the Indian Ocean to the north and west.

Harvested at perfect ripeness, the fruit was hand-picked into small bins and chilled overnight to 8°C. The bunches were then gently whole-bunch pressed, yielding only the finest free-run juice to capture purity and the true character of the vineyard. After a settling overnight in a stainless-steel tank, the juice was gently gravity-fed to French oak barriques and 500L puncheons (one-third new). Each parcel was wild yeast fermented at temperatures kept below 20°C to preserve fruit purity and aromatic lift.

Review
Soft nougat, silken and creamy with light florals, fresh-baked sourdough and lemon curd. Delightful fruit sweetness – delicate and pure with sea salt from the core of the fruit. Voluminous yet light with powder puff and talcy notes. Green spice leads to a lovely long, clear glossy line. Silken, glassy, smooth with oodles of clarity, delicate spice and lifted acidity. Gentle sea spray, pure and nuanced. A beautiful wine that speaks of the vineyard. Single vineyard, dry-grown Gingin clone, wild yeast-fermented, no malo, no stirring. 60% barrique, 40% puncheon for nine months.

Review
Party time with Parterre in the 2023 vintage. Ripe lime, vanilla, almond friand, white flowers – very good smelling wine here. Juicy, lime, a pixelated grip, sandstone maybe, a bit of raw energy to this wine, plenty of crunch and a lime margarita thing happening, with a finish of excellent length. Tops. This is a peak release.
