La Nerthe 'Les Cassagnes' Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc 2023
, Grenache Blanc , Roussanne , Marsanne The Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Rhône Villages “Les Cassagnes de La Nerthe” vines are located on the Massif d’Uchaux, 15km north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vineyard is composed of three terraces, the highest of which overlap with the surrounding Mediterranean forest. The garrigue is everywhere: thyme, rosemary, laurels, evergreen oaks, olive trees, and genista.
Cassagnes means “green oaks” in Provencal. They border the vineyard where the vines grow between Mediterranean forest and garrigue. Up there, the plots of white grapes retain the freshness and reveal the aromas of fruits and flowers.
Scallops, grilled fish or with asparagus, arugula and parmesan salad.
Charming nose offering orchard fruits aromas, fresh pear and white peach, along with floral accents and honeysuckle.
The palate is very fresh, offering lemony flavours along with vine peaches notes and slight minerality tones. No heaviness here, Viognier dominates the blend but with great length and a classy and elegant finish!
