Farr Rising Garganega 2025
By Farr Wines is a family legacy that began in 1994, founded by Gary Farr and now run by Nick and Cassie Farr. Their dedication and passion have established wine brands with a deeply rooted heart and soul.
Nick’s enthusiasm and passion for wine is captivating, and an excellent grounding in both the new and old schools of winemaking is the perfect complement to his individual tastes and ideas.
“The wines we make are not mainstream—they are expressions of our vineyard, our land and what we like to drink. That is what we promise to deliver.” Nick Farr.
The wine we are all most excited about from the 2025 vintage must be the first release of Farr Rising Garganega. This is the 4th year this wine has been produced, but prior to now in has been solely consumed by the team at Ipsos Restaurant, and our team.
Due to the Farr’s love of Soave and the desire to drink their own wine, Garganega was planted. It sits on a north facing slope atop grey sandy loam, with underlying limestone and an ironstone base.
The wine is naturally fermented, 50% occurring in tank and 50% in 1 year old oak barrels, before being bottled 10 months later. The choice to split the ferment between tank and barrel allows for a refined acidity, whilst continuing to develop complexity. I hope you enjoy this work in progress. Don’t be shy, have a try!
Mushroom risotto, grilled prawns, ratatouille.
