Description

Domaine Bessin-Tremblay was established in its current form in 1989 by Jean-Claude and Evelyne Bessin, though the Bessin family has been involved in viticulture in Chablis since the 19th century. The estate is based in La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne, just north of Chablis, and today farms approximately 12 hectares of vineyards across the Chablis, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru classifications.

Derived from the domaine's oldest vines, meticulously planted between 1950 and 1974, this wine holds the esteemed title of the Domaine's flagship, consistently garnering accolades from both critics and connoisseurs alike. Crafted with precision, the use of stainless steel and neutral oak in fermentation and maturation underscores its commitment to accentuating the pure essence of fruit, minerality, and saline notes.

Tasting Profile
Nose

Superbly fine fruit aromas of green and yellow apple, quince, grapefruit, pineapple, sweet almond, a touch of thyme and sage, all very clear and straightforward, with distinct minerality.

Palate

On the palate, an elegant opening with currently somewhat restrained, youthful aromatics. Fresh acidity, creamy texture, more herbal spice and pineapple, along with sweet almond, a hint of butter, and fine phenolics.
