Description

The ultimate culmination of the harvest season, the final fruits plucked delicately from the vineyard. Painstakingly hand-selected and meticulously destemmed, these grapes are united in a 'field blend' fashion, thoughtfully preserving an abundance of intact berries. The initial stages of fermentation involve a traditional approach reminiscent of the Portuguese lagar method, where the must is worked by foot. This process artfully extracts tannins from both the skins and seeds, contributing to the wine's character.

Following this, a gentle pressing ensues, and a graceful maturation period unfolds within weathered oak barrels spanning ten months. This alchemical transformation takes place in the embrace of seasoned oak, fostering a harmonious evolution.

Crafted from an extraordinary medley of six distinct Portuguese grape varieties—Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Tinta Amarela, Alvarelhao, Roriz, and Sousao—these vines are rooted in a natural amphitheatre. This pristine site occupies the zenith of the Yarra Yering vineyard, marking the apex of its southernmost expanse.
