Deep, bold red colour laced with purple; plum pudding, fruitcake and subtle herb aromas, a suggestion of roasting meats, oak not discernible, but the fruit is savoury, mellow and not especially primary. It’s medium-full bodied and the same softly savoury but drying tannins and flavours are present, all consistent with the maker's style. There is a restrained fruit sweetness at its core, and appealing balance in the flavour, bouquet and mouth-feel. Good length and satisfying to drink. A sotto voce Basket Press, drinking well already
