Ten Minutes by Tractor 'Down the Hill' Pinot Noir 2024
Ten Minutes by Tractor is a winery on the Mornington Peninsula. It is the convergence of wine journeys that began almost 40 years ago with a group of individuals and vineyards that fortuitously came together over time to create the winery that exists today.
Our winery started in 1997 with three family owned vineyards in Main Ridge, all ten minutes by tractor apart. Since then we have added new vineyards, but all have their own unique character with different aspects, slopes, soils, altitude and winds which flow through the valleys up from Bass Strait.
Sourced from vineyards at lower elevations on the Mornington Peninsula, the ‘Down the Hill’ Pinot Noir 2024 captures a brighter, more fruit-driven expression of the region. The blend brings together fruit from Coolart Road, Wallis, and Mihaly vineyards, combining freshness, fragrance, and depth in perfect harmony.
Cherry wood spice and earthy notes blend with raspberry, leather, pomegranate and plum, providing layers of fruit and a gracious and juicy palate. A lift of potpourri with some subtle gingerbread like components adds vibrancy that surround the earthy fine tannins.
Braised beef cheek bourguignon with duck fat potatoes and a fresh garden salad
Compote, ripe cranberry and raspberry carry through on the palate with a savoury backbone driven by graphite and clove spice. Earthy tannins bind the wine together, finishing with length and persistence.
Baked cherry and a floral lift jump from the glass.
