Description

The 2012 Rippon Mature Vines Pinot Noir is a superb example of a mature New Zealand Pinot Noir. Its brick-red colour reflects its age, while the nose is filled with a heady mix of black cherries, blackcurrants, and hints of leather, spice, and forest floor. On the palate, the wine reveals layers of complexity, with a rich, velvety texture and a firm, yet balanced tannic structure.

The fruit is well-integrated with notes of oak, earth, and spice, leading to a long and satisfying finish. This wine is a testament to the age-worthiness of Pinot Noir from Central Otago and the skill of the Rippon Estate winemakers. The 2012 Rippon Mature Vines Pinot Noir is a stunning wine that will continue to evolve and develop with further aging, making it a great choice for those who enjoy a mature and complex Pinot Noir.
