Description

Orlando stands as one of the venerable icons in Australian wine history, tracing its roots back to 1874 under the stewardship of the esteemed Gramps family.

Crafted in the crisp, cool-climate terroir of the Adelaide Hills, Lyndale Adelaide Hills Chardonnay emerges as a striking embodiment of contemporary Australian winemaking. Sourced from select blocks in Woodside, this exceptional vintage gains its depth and endurance from the region's rich offerings. Meanwhile, the inclusion of fruit from prized Piccadilly parcels infuses the wine with a pristine purity and an elegantly structured acidity, culminating in a truly remarkable expression of Chardonnay.

“The classic white peach varietal aromas are backed up by nutty barrel ferment characteristics and classy French oak. This wine is the epitome of contemporary Australian chardonnay, with its creamy texture, long finish and fresh acidity. A joy to drink.” – 5 Stars & Outstanding Winewise Championship 2023

Review

This is a pretty amazing wine. The fruit has such power; the style brings such complexity. Flint, tinned peaches, smoked cedarwood and ginger-like notes roll into almonds and butter. It’s zesty and energetic, lemony even, but there’s so much going on, and it feels so convincing. A warning: the flint/struck match notes here are overt. But it’s a pretty special wine
