Ministry of Clouds Shiraz 2023
This is McLaren Vale Shiraz through a slightly different lens - more about energy and balance than sheer power. It’s a blend of fruit from two standout sites: Blewitt Springs brings brightness and perfume, while the Onkaparinga Rocks vineyard adds a bit more structure and depth.
There’s some whole bunch in the ferment, which adds a gentle herbal edge and a bit of grip, but nothing too shouty. The fruit sits in that red/blue spectrum - think mulberries, cherries, maybe a little plum - with some earthy, savoury notes keeping things grounded. It sees a mix of oak and even a stint in a concrete egg, but none of that gets in the way. Everything feels in the right place.
This is a really versatile, medium-bodied Shiraz - built to work on the table, not take it over. It'll go nicely with grilled lamb or something smoky off the barbecue, but it’s also easy to enjoy on its own. Drink now or over the next 5–6 years.
