Description

Moonlight Race is an exquisite journey that revolves around the distinct character of our two exclusive estate vineyards: Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn and Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn. The fusion of these exceptional sites gives rise to a dynamic expression of the quintessential Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Radiant florals, accompanied by vibrant red cherry and plum tones, pave the way for an enticing interplay of savoury black tea, spice, and earthy notes. This wine boasts a captivatingly lively core, complemented by a silky texture and enduring, elegant structure on the palate.

Crafted exclusively from our 100% estate-grown vines, the 'Moonlight Race' from Burn Cottage is a masterful blend sourced from two distinct locations: the 'Burn Cottage' vineyard in Lowburn and the 'Sauvage' vineyard in Bannockburn.

Both vineyards adhere to biodynamic farming practices, collectively presenting a palette of eight Pinot clones that contribute a myriad of nuances to this exceptional wine.

Review

A blend of grapes from Bannockburn and Lowburn. Appealing and accessible pinot noir with ripe cherry, plum, violet and star anise. A smooth-textured wine with subtle power. Delicious now but no rush.
