Description
This is a complex and powerful wine, befitting of its Reserve status. It is selected from a rigorous barrel selection process, and less than 15% of our total Chardonnay production is considered to be of such quality as to qualify.
Vintage 2022 was late in starting, and we only picked our first grapes on 28 March. Yields were generally very modest due to the lower bunch and berry sizes, which was a common theme across most of the cooler wine grape production areas of Australia this season. However, the lower quantity has resulted in excellent quality across all wine styles.

Pale straw. The fruit unfurls nicely with inviting white peach. nectarine, citrus and melon tones with underlying soft spice, clotted cream, wildflowers, nougat and river stone. Ther is some nice grapefruit-like tension and a bright cadence on the palate, impressive minerality and a finish that fades slowly with memories of creamy, softly spiced stone and citrus fruits. Limited Release.

Pale straw and bright in the glass. Complex aromas of struck match, grapefruit pith, melon skin, grilled nuts and white flowers. Rich, full flavoured and quite opulent on the palate. There's a core of stone fruit and nectarine, along with nutty oak and a lick of vanilla. Creamy, layered and with lovely mouth-feel and length, this is a very complete and sophisticated chardonnay.”
