Halfway between the great whites, to the south, and the reds of Pommard and Volnay to the north, Auxey-Duresses is a rather discrete appellation. With neither Grand Crus nor prestigious wines, Auxey-Duresses draws its playing card from whites with beautiful complexity, suppleness, and delicacy.
