This is more deeply pitched still with an exceptionally fresh nose that is classic Gevrey with its array of animale, dark berry, humus and pungent earth scents. There is that lovely sense of underlying tension adding lift to the mineral-inflected, muscular and powerful middle-weight flavours that deliver very fine length on the more structured finish. This isn't necessarily better or more interesting than the Lavaut but the texture is definitely different as it's more robust. A qualitative choice.
