Description

The Mort’s Block Riesling is nothing short of exceptional, boasting a tantalizingly crisp acidity that beautifully mirrors the illustrious terroir of Watervale. It skillfully marries the renowned fruit intensity synonymous with Mort’s Riesling with the rich, enduring flavors derived from the limestone and slate-rich vineyard soil. Elegantly refined yet generously mouth-filling, this exquisite creation stands as a testament to the pinnacle of Mort’s block winemaking." - Peter Warr, Chief Winemaker.

Nestled just beside the winery, Mort’s Block vineyard serves as the very nucleus of this wine, while the fruit from our Morrison vineyard, situated on the opposite hillside, adds layers of depth and complexity.

Review

Old, low-yielding vines. Light, bright green-quartz. The delicately perfumed bouquet takes some coaxing to reveal itself, the palate following without the need of persuasion. It is bright and lively, bringing citrus, Granny Smith apple, and slinky acidity from the first sip through to the lingering finish. Drink to 2040.
