Atlas Watervale Riesling 2024
The vision for Atlas was pretty simple: to produce great wine from the highest-quality fruit available, not just from the Atlas estate vineyard but from vineyards with exceptional provenance in the surrounding regions. In searching out these vineyards, Adam has come to know intimately the complexity and diversity of the Clare Valley, and how the unique characteristics of different sites – geology, soil, groundwater, climate and weather, aspect, slope and more – produce fruit with unique qualities. It’s these qualities that he has sought to express through the wines he has made.
This wine comes from premium, dry-grown vineyards in the renowned Watervale subregion of the Clare Valley — long celebrated for producing Australia’s most distinctive Rieslings. The vines are rooted in classic terra rossa soils over limestone, contributing both purity and structure to the wine. The vineyards are hand-pruned and shoot thinned, and the fruit is harvested in the cool of night to capture freshness and vibrancy.
Lifted aromas of citrus blossom, lemongrass, and white florals, layered with lime zest and green apple.
The palate is precise and finely textured, with a core of Meyer lemon and lime supported by bright acidity and a clean, mineral line.
