Description

Explore the prestigious Vosne Romanée and Flagey-Echezeaux vineyards, both bestowed with the esteemed Vosne-Romanée appellation. Nestled on the slopes, the Grands Crus Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux thrive in chalky soil, perfectly cultivating the essence of exquisite Grands Crus, basking in an ideal east/south-east orientation. Our meticulous winemaking process begins with a manual harvest in small crates to preserve the fruit's integrity. Carefully sorted by hand and destemmed, the grapes undergo a 3 to 4-week maceration in open wooden or stainless steel vats, punched twice a day during fermentation.

This outstanding wine unveils itself in the glass, offering captivating aromas of sweet wild berries, dark chocolate, potpourri, and spices. On the palate, revel in a full-bodied, velvety, and supple experience, characterized by a broad and textural attack, fine depth at the core, and a lively, nicely defined finish. Often underrated yet deserving of acclaim, this gem from Jadot is a must-try, a testament to the winery's unwavering commitment to excellence. Don't miss the opportunity to savor this hidden treasure.

The Jadot parcel covers 0.35ha in Les Rouges du Bas and is one of the producer's most complete Grands Crus in 2018. The one-third new oak is typically smoky and assertive but that comes with the territory here. The underlying fruit is very smart and scented with floral raspberry and red cherry flavours and silky tannins. Drinking Window 2024 - 2032.

This is even spicier with its cool and pure aromas of violet, lilac, rose petal, Asian-style tea and mix of red and dark berries. The suave and seductively textured flavors are not quite as dense but they are finer on the mid-palate yet the robust and powerful finish is consistent with what one typically expects from examples of Echézeaux from Les Rouges du Bas. Patience again strongly advised.
