Humis Vineyard Grenache 2023
Michelle and Hugh began Humis Vineyard in 2010 it has felt like a life time in the making. Originally from rural New South Wales and Victoria, Michelle and Hugh came to establish Humis Vineyard. Now on their eleventh vintage and have expanded significantly with all wines being made onsite.
The appeal of this wine is obvious, in the best of ways. It's bright, perfumed, strung with fine-grained, flavoursome tannin and while complex, it's juicy and energetic throughout. It's a light and lovely wine, for drinking now-ish.
Dark red colour with black toned edges, fragrant dark raspberry and ripe cherry aromas mix with red liquorice, light earth and vanillin spice notes. Pitch-perfect scents of sweet spice and blueberry lead to a super-delicious palate laden with bright red berried fruit, violets, crushed fennel and musk.
Light to medium weight, succulent raspberry and cherry fruits overlay a liquorice and vanillin confectionary back drop. Velvet smooth tannins with a juicy yet quite savoury finish that has a dash of spice to it. Pitch-perfect scents of sweet spice and blueberry lead to a super-delicious palate laden with bright red berried fruit, violets, crushed fennel and musk.
