South of Beaune, the slopes of Meursault (21 Côte d'Or) are facing east. The upper vines benefit from the rock, those in the middle from a more generous soil while those at the bottom reach a less dry soil. Meursault is the emblem of the great white wines from the Chardonnay grape variety.
