The 2022 Amphora Cabernet comes from a selection of vines planted on our A9 and A11 vineyards. These vines are close planted to a very good clone called WA Cape which has a rich history in some of Australia’s finest Cabernets. This clone produces deep, dark fruited Cabernet with very fine tannin.
The De Bortoli ‘Melba Vineyard’ at Dixons Creek has a rich history of exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon dating back to the 1970’s. The 'Melba' brand pays tribute to renowned operatic soprano diva, Dame Nellie Melba with three premium Cabernet Sauvignons: Melba Vineyard, Melba Amphora and Melba Reserve.
Steak, mushrooms and blue cheese
Bright, medium red. Haunting, ethereal, blackberry and dark chocolate.
Dense, finely structured, supple, ultra fine tannin, generous, earthern and complex.
