Curator Wine Co. Shiraz 2023
Our philosophy is to curate the finest wines from the Barossa’s most exclusive sub-regions. Through patience and low intervention, we make wines which are the truest reflection of our unique vineyard sites and their seasons.
This Barossa Valley Shiraz was sourced from our 5 different plots of Shiraz at our home Marananga vineyard. It’s gorgeously perfumed on the nose, with dark cherries, blueberries and a well-integrated layer of fine French oak making this a powerful but smooth wine. It’s upfront and hugely appealing. 10% whole bunch, each plot was naturally fermented separately and basket pressed to only French oak (15% new). Natural Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel and the wine remained in those same barrels for 16 months before being selected and blended together to form the final cuvée.
Red plum, blueberry and mulberry notes are underlined by hints of baking spices, red licorice, ironstone, violets, earth and milk chocolate.
Red and dark berry fruits on the palate with tight, sandy tannin, bright acidity and a medium-length finish with just a swoosh of tobacco.
