Description

An exceptional embodiment of Serralunga, encompassing the essence of tea, slate, and graphite, graced by tannins of remarkable quality that exude presence and sophistication.

The wine boasts a resolute mouthfeel, showcasing the hallmark of top-tier Serralunga tannins. Once again, it stands as a consummate masterpiece, with an enticing nose that irresistibly beckons you to savor it—a palpable aura of darkness and boundless energy.

This wine is a testament to the art of winemaking, characterized by its precision and purity, proudly displaying the distinct terroir of both the vineyard and the commune. It offers superb fruit, characterized by its profound depth and remarkable length.

World famous for centuries, this noble descendent of the Nebbiolo varietal is historically associated with the Italian Risorgimento. An austere, generous and age-worthy wine rightly considered to be the pride of the Italian wine-making tradition. A special vineyard which, owing to its superb characteristics, is one of the most interesting and prestigious of Serralunga d’Alba.

Review

Out of the Serralunga d’Alba commune, here we have Barolo with an edgier expression to begin. Intense savoury and minerally characters dominate: iron and blacksmith notes, porcini as well, then straight into a tannin powered palate, yet all power to those aromatics as they remain steadfast, offering an overall rustic personality. A forager’s wine, underpinned by forest floor notes, genuinely indicative of wild, hilly country. Most captivating.
