Edmond Jacquin et Fils Vin de Savoie Jongieux Blanc 2024
In the heart of the Savoy vineyards, Domaine Edmond Jacquin & Fils perpetuates a unique family winemaking tradition. Here, the passion for wine is passed down from generation to generation, close to the slopes of Jongieux. Our vineyard produces authentic, dry, and elegant Savoy wines, shaped by an exceptional terroir.
To make this white wine, we use a grape variety typical of the Savoy region, Jacquère. This grape, originally from Savoy, thrives particularly well in limestone soils. Here, there is no blending; this wine is made from a single grape variety.
First, the grapes are harvested by hand at their optimal ripeness. This prevents the bunches from oxidizing and ensures excellent juice quality. Then, upon arrival at the winery, we use a pneumatic press to extract the juice, known as must. Afterward, the must undergoes fermentation at a low temperature. This is how we preserve the natural aromas and flavors of this grape variety.
Pairs well with seafood (oysters) or fried perch. Traditionally, Savoyards use this typical wine to accompany local cuisine (raclette, tartiflette, Savoyard fondue).
The nose is very expressive, and reveals notes of jasmine, acacia and citrus fruits- lemon and grapefruit.
On the palate, this white wine is lively and fresh, with well-balanced acidity and a pleasant length.
