Sordo Barolo Parussi DOCG 2016

Big juicy thing, all red fruits and nuts, shows a slight warmth, fresh, more rounded, aniseed/pastis thing and grip from chalky tannin. Open. Bright in a way.

Sweet whiffs of cranberry, pomegranate, ripe raspberry with liquorice, brambles. Evocative scents. Almost spice-cupboard like. Fleshy, bright and a touch warm in fruit character, quite flamboyant, powdery tannins weaving through red berries, dried herbs then fennel to close with a rolling pucker of chalkiness. It’s a bold expression, undisciplined at present, but enjoyable.
