The Vosne Romanée appellation decree cites the descriptive work of the Duchy of Burgundy published by Abbot Courtépée in 1778: the "Vosne" vineyard is described as " the head of Burgundy wines renowned throughout Europe " and it is specified that there is no common wine in the Vosne region. The "Les Hautes Maizières" place, classified as a "village", is located mid-slope, just below the "Les Suchots" premier cru climat. The plot, cultivated by the Domaine, extends over 0.62 ha in the heart of the place. The vines are around forty years old.
