According to Perrotti-Brown, the wine's medium-bodied palate features a "satiny texture and racy backbone," culminating in a "lingering chalky note."

James Suckling also gave this wine an excellent review, scoring it 94 points. He highlighted its "big white" profile with flavors of "sliced apple, pineapple, and lychee fruit." Suckling noted that the wine is "full-bodied and dense with lots of fruit and phenolics on the mid-palate," and praised its "roundness and power at the end." He mentioned that the grapes for this wine were harvested on August 9 and that it comes from the same plots as Yquem.

This is a big white with sliced apple, pineapple and lychee fruit. It’s full-bodied and dense with lots of fruit and phenolics on the mid-palate. A roundness and power at the end. From the same plots as Yquem. Harvested August 9. 60% sauvignon blanc and 40% semillon. Drink or hold.

It skips out of the glass with cheery notions of fresh, crunchy pears, allspice, fennel seed, and lime leaves, leading to touches of lemon drops, chalk dust, and white pepper. The medium-bodied palate has a satiny texture and racy backbone with layers of pear and baking spices flavors, finishing on a lingering chalky note.
