Sourced from estate-grown parcels, these vineyards are often in their youth and include cuttings taken from our iconic blocks (Old Bastard 1893, Alte Reben 1899, Old Vine 1962). Handpicked and fermented on the skins for 7-10 days, the wine is then bag-pressed into older French oak barriques for 14 months. Bottled mid-August 2024, this wine is deliberately made to be a little juicier, softer in tannin, and brighter than its elder sibling, the Bogan Shiraz.
Tender red meat dishes with roast vegetables.
Deep bright crimson with purple hue. Ripe plums, blueberries, jubey florals with some raspberry liqourice.
Lovely fresh fruits, with blueberry and wild cherry flavours. Subtle toast in the background. A supple, velvet-like tannin structure with lots of juicy blue fruits to finish.
