Domaine Derey Bourgogne Cote d'Or Rouge 2023
More than just a tradition, the craft of viticulture has been in the Derey family's genes since 1650, when the family first made their mark in the Burgundy vineyards.
In 1850, Claude Derey founded the estate in the commune of Couchey. Since then, six generations have carried on the tradition, expanding the estate through new acquisitions of these clay-limestone soils, the cradle of all great Burgundy wines.
Today, the estate covers 20 hectares, spread across the communes of Dijon, Marsannay, Fixin, and Gevrey Chambertin. In the 2000s, Pierre and Susanne took over the reins. The Derey estate is committed to absolute respect for good practices: traditional plowing, controlled yields, manual harvesting, and grape selection at the sorting table. Maxime, the eldest son, has joined the team to support the commitment to the most environmentally friendly technologies and the practice of sustainable viticulture.
Roast chicken, charcuterie, summer salad.
The nose reveals red and black fruits such as cherry.
The palate is fresh and balanced notes of raspberries, cherries and strawberries. The wine is balanced, fresh with lovely acidity. A fleshy, fruity wine with a nice length.
