Description

PHI is the 21st letter of the Ancient Greek alphabet and symbolises balance, harmony and proportion. In a similar way, the third and fourth generations of the De Bortoli family are working together to create considered Single Vineyard wine that gives proportion to climate, soil and maker.

The Abbey vineyard was purchased by the De Bortoli family in 2005. In 2015, the vineyard was replanted and Gamay Noir was chosen as one of the most suitable varieties for the site. It typically produces brooding dark fruited Gamay Noir with power and charm.

Review
Fruit from the 2015-planted Abbey Vineyard in Tarrawarra. A combination of whole berries and whole bunches. Another super bright and super delicious gamay from the team at De Borts. Bursting with red cherries, redcurrants and pink peppercorns, the palate is vibrant and fresh with crunchy tannins rounding a super summer food wine to drink now and over the next two to three years.
