Close of Play is a wine of great character and style. Showing generous red berry fruits with touches of mint and clove. The palate has great depth, is soft, silky and wonderfully balanced.
“Soft and silky in style, this wine shows generous red berry fruits with touches of mint and clove. Langhorne Creek is famous for wines of pure drinking enjoyment, and this is a wine of great character and style.” - Ben Riggs
Firm, medium weight red of dark, plummy fruit, salt bush characters, a touch of eucalyptus and plenty of ferrous, saline mineral things going on. It drinks like a BBQ red with quite a bit more grace and elegance, everything seamlessly woven together, the wine fresh, long and shaped with sleek tannin. This does a good job of pitching at more refined, restrained cabernets.
Medium, intense ruby colour. Tobacco leaf and cherries on the nose. Good medium weight with a classic claret feel. Nice hint of saline minerality speaks of Langhorne Creek. Flows silky and quite long. Good value gear.
