Jean-Marc Sélèque’s flagship cuvée, a favourite in grower-producer Champagne circles, is composed of predominantly Chardonnay with Pinot Meunier and a small amount of Pinot Noir. Powerful grower Champagne from a vanguard producer.
Tightly wound, bracing Champagne of velocity and intensity. A supersonic pulse of tart, green apple, citrus, faint ginger biscuit in flavours, with a perfume that echoes the same but with more volume. Texture is chalky, bubbles tight and firm, almost aggressive, but doing a good job of refreshment factor. It feels really un-evolved in a sense, but the drinkability remains, and mouth-puckering freshness are the result. This is really good.
