Description

The 2020 Chateau des Tours Brouilly is a charming red wine that displays the distinctive character of the Beaujolais region. It has a deep, ruby-red colour with a purple hue that suggests its youthfulness.

On the nose, it offers a delightful aroma of ripe red berries, such as raspberry and cherry, combined with a subtle hint of black pepper and a touch of minerality. On the palate, this wine is light and fresh, with a perfect balance of acidity and tannins that enhance the fruit flavours and provides a pleasant crispness.

It is made from 100% Gamay grapes, which is typical of the Brouilly appellation, and this wine showcases the Gamay grape's distinctive fruitiness and elegance.

The finish is long and satisfying, with a lingering fruity aftertaste that makes it an ideal accompaniment to charcuterie, grilled meats, or pasta dishes. Overall, the 2020 Chateau des Tours Brouilly is an excellent representation of the Beaujolais region's winemaking tradition, showcasing a delightful combination of fruitiness, freshness, and elegance.

Review

The estate, based around a castle, has produced this bright wine that is still young. It has depth and potential, with tannins as well as juicy red-cherry flavors. The wine is worth aging. Drink from 2023.
