From the very beginning, the family has instilled a passion for viticulture in each new heir, preserving the strong bond between man and vine. The result? A remarkable wine that embodies their family values and strong work ethic - the Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques Magnum 1.5L 2019.

Managed by Eric Rousseau, the domain has grown over the years and now spans 15 hectares and 3 acres, boasting a range of exceptional wines from Village to Grand Crus appellations. But what sets the Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques Magnum 1.5L 2019 apart is not only its outstanding quality but also its impressive magnum bottle size.

Magnum bottles, which hold 1.5 litres of wine, are often associated with celebrations and special occasions. They also offer practical benefits, such as slower aging due to the wine-to-air ratio and a more stable temperature during storage. But perhaps the most impressive aspect is the aesthetic impact of the magnum size. The wine appears more striking, with a commanding presence that draws the eye and heightens anticipation.

So step into the world of the Rousseau family and experience their passion for winemaking through the Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques Magnum 1.5L 2019. Savour its exceptional flavour, appreciate the magnum size, and raise a glass to tradition and family values.

Review

Here too there is just enough wood to warrant mentioning framing the exceptionally spicy red berry fruit and floral-suffused aromas. There is fine density to the sleekly muscular and intense flavours that are blessed with a fine mid-palate concentration on the tightly wound and sneaky long finish that is both balanced and notably firm, which should enable this to evolve and improve for at least two decades. There is a hint of warmth but it's not enough to really detract from the overall sense of harmony. In a word, impressive.
