This is the first wine to show any wood influence and it's not subtle with its menthol and toast nuances on the spicy, Sauvage and purple fruit scents. Like the old vines, Morey too possesses excellent mid-palate concentration and a definite muscularity to the rich and velvet-textured flavours that deliver solid length on the bitter cherry-inflected finish that isn't quite as complex.
